London, CENTRAL SAINT MARTIN’S COLLEGE OF ART&DESIGN.- NOW&THEN´s Founder shares her experience with post-graduate fashion students

Sara spent the last day of the course "How To Start A Business In The Fashion Industry" amongst the students and lecturer, Lynette Cook. She shared with them her own experience as a start-up in an attempt to show that it is possible to transform a fashion idea into a business, even in the current economic downturn.

Only a year ago, Sara sat down on the same class, just before putting together the final dots on her business and relocating to Barcelona temporarily to get her business started.

Lynette Cook, currently a fashion consultant and a lecturer at Saint Martins, has been one of the most inspirational fashion professionals in Sara’s career. Lynette was only 15 years old when she set her feet in the fashion world by making patterns and dresses in her bedroom and delivering them to clients all over the UK by placing mail order advertising in the leading fashion magazines of the time. Her tipping point became only a few years later when she still was a fashion student and, together with other fellow fashion colleagues, moved to Canary Wharf area (the Shoreditch of London at the time) and provided trends consulting services to all the leading high street retailers.‘If she made it when she was only 15, I’d better hurry up!’ Sara thought at the time. With regards to NOW&THEN, Lynette’s commented Your shop looks fantastic and it's good for me to see when someone's dream becomes reality’.
