Barcelona: Spanish Channel TV3 includes NOW&THEN on their forthcoming feature series on Barcelona´s lifestyle

London: The leading Graphic Design Company "THE CAULDRON" puts together NOW&THEN’s logbook for ONE (Of A kind) Fashion Project

NOW&THEN thanks The Cauldron for this great opportunity: ‘NOW&THEN’s first project to distribute the brand means everything to us, as we work on it literally day and night, seven days a week. I hope that one day we can become a regular client of yours and then you may look back and think that when you first met me three years ago I was just a good sales person with common sense and a powerful fashion idea’.

The Cauldron (www.wemakedesignwork.com) is a multi-dimensional graphic design agency who encourage design to be free from formalities and restrictions. With small, medium and large clients such as Nicole Farhi and French Connection, they are one of the most creative teams of design talents who bring value to every single brand they work with.

London, Kensington: NOW&THEN´s Photo Shoot for "ONE OF A KIND" Fashion Project

Sara de la Torre, Label Founder and CEO of NOW&THEN, who also coordinated the photo shoot, would like to thank the whole team who worked for 12 intense hours non-stop: ‘My heart was biting fast when I saw how all the pieces came together, with each member of the team being extremely focused and giving the best of themselves. No doubt this was one the most productive and emotional days in my fashion career’.

Besides Sara, the team was made up of four individuals, each of them selected for their multi-disciplined background to bring that extra contribution which ‘hybrid’ individuals provide, particularly in the artistic world.

NADIA KUZNECOVA (Latvia) is a professional model, a dance teacher and a team PA at an insurance brokerage firm in the City of London and speaks five languages.

She has also brought to life the forthcoming One Of A Kind’s fashion collection/series project. “I saw your ad and I just knew that representing the image of this project was just for me”. She was right. ”Nadia has proved to be versatile, disciplined and full of character and energy. Without her, “One Of A Kind” would only be “Many Of A Kind”.

ALAN THOMAS (England) is a freelance fashion photographer who enjoys the intensity of fashion photo shoots and likes working on creative fashion-related ideas. As well as every other NOW&THEN collaborator, he is multi-talented. He has also worked on other artistic photography areas, including people/portraits, performance and individual works.

KEIKO NAKAMURA (Japan) is the London based Japanese professional make-up artist and hair stylist who put together every single look throughout a 12-hour shooting with complete focus, determination and high standards. Amongst her current exciting projects, Keiko has put make-up on this year’s Miss England Winner, Rachel Christie.

OLIVER FLORES (Italy) assisted Alan and everybody else to ensure everything was running smoothly. Oliver is an independent advisor who has worked for NOW&THEN and supported us all from the beginning. It is a real pleasure to also have him on the shoot.

London: NOW&THEN appoints NADIA KUZNECOVA as NOW&THEN’S Image

Originally from Latvia, Nadia Kuznecova is the talented model who puts an image to NOW&THEN as a brand. NOW&THEN chose Nadia because ‘she is elegant, full of character but also has a touch of quirkiness. Every single woman who buys from NOW&THEN, no matter her age or nationality, identifies herself with her natural looks’.

Please refer to NOW&THEN’s collection section to discover Nadia and preview "One Of A Kind"’s fashion series project.

London, Notting Hill: ‘We met up with TWIGGY and BARBARA HULANICKI!’

‘Life is full of surprises and coincidences. On the day I met Nadia, the model image of NOW&THEN, I bumped into the two women who gave a meaning to my fashion business, Twiggy and Barbara Hulanicki (BIBA). Words are not enough to express the pleasure to encounter them, certainly when I most needed the reassurance from them that NOW&THEN can bring a new definition to the fashion industry. I look forward to meeting them again at Barbara Hulanicki’s documentary premier at the end of September in Notting Hill’.

London: NOW&THEN hires Stephanie Derby as the main seamstress

Stephanie Derby is appointed as the professional seamstress to assist on the making of NOW&THEN’s next fashion collection/series project, which will launch on September 14th. This series project, named "One Of A Kind", will become NOW&THEN’s first collection available for distribution in targeted Spanish and British fashion retailers.

Like many other designers , Stephanie first trained as an illustrator to then evolve as a seamstress. At only 24, her passion for retro eras brings a refreshing outlook to vintage dresses, making her a perfect NOW&THEN collaborator. “Working on this project is a very fulfilling experience for me as each piece that I work on is totally individual. I believe it is important to respect the design and history of the pieces we work on, but also by breathing new life into these pieces they become refreshingly unique and wearable”.

London, CENTRAL SAINT MARTIN’S COLLEGE OF ART&DESIGN.- NOW&THEN´s Founder shares her experience with post-graduate fashion students

Sara spent the last day of the course "How To Start A Business In The Fashion Industry" amongst the students and lecturer, Lynette Cook. She shared with them her own experience as a start-up in an attempt to show that it is possible to transform a fashion idea into a business, even in the current economic downturn.

Only a year ago, Sara sat down on the same class, just before putting together the final dots on her business and relocating to Barcelona temporarily to get her business started.

Lynette Cook, currently a fashion consultant and a lecturer at Saint Martins, has been one of the most inspirational fashion professionals in Sara’s career. Lynette was only 15 years old when she set her feet in the fashion world by making patterns and dresses in her bedroom and delivering them to clients all over the UK by placing mail order advertising in the leading fashion magazines of the time. Her tipping point became only a few years later when she still was a fashion student and, together with other fellow fashion colleagues, moved to Canary Wharf area (the Shoreditch of London at the time) and provided trends consulting services to all the leading high street retailers.‘If she made it when she was only 15, I’d better hurry up!’ Sara thought at the time. With regards to NOW&THEN, Lynette’s commented Your shop looks fantastic and it's good for me to see when someone's dream becomes reality’.

NOW&THEN hires Alberto Dobos as Shop and Brand Manager, Spain

With over 20 years of experience in sales, NOW&THEN hires Alberto with the confidence that he will deliver the exceptional results required for an innovative and groundbreaking fashion business. Alberto is an experienced and dedicated fashion and style consultant. More importantly, he is a person who always manages to put a smile on everyone’s face’.

BAMBOLA Collection by NOW&THEN, ready for sale

NOW&THEN is pleased to announce the arrival of the first pieces of Bambola. This collection is made of dresses, tops and skirts in bright and plain colors in luxury textiles. As always in NOW&THEN, the style is clearly vintage-inspired, this time by taking the 1960´s - 70´s as a reference and therefore highly feminine.

Every piece of clothing is unique and it is made out of original vintage patterns obtained from antique markets from around the world. Each design is further personalized by adding details such as ribbons, lace, stones, etc, transforming them into a real collectors´item.

Published feature report on vintage fashion and NOW&THEN by the Catalan newspaper AVUI

The catalan newspaper AVUI published an article on Sara de la Torre, NOW&THEN´s designer. The whole article focuses on fashion shops in Barcelona that aim to revive the 50´s decade via their style, products and store decoration, hence highlighting the extraordinary beauty of that age.

´Strolling down Bulevard Rosa is becoming a really interesting task to carry out. While most shops in this mini shopping centre belong to large chains, it is also true that there are certain corners from independent which are worth visiting. NOW&THEN is amongst such jewels (...) ´Forgotten designs from other times translate into modern by resurrecting the inventions from the old couture and adding the modern influence of new fabrics and technologies (...)´´But that is not all. NOW&THEN also sells art´.

´Silver walls, black floors and and ceilings and neoclassic windows bring a retro-chic character to the shop, like a French shop from the 1950´s´.

The first group of new photographers are already exhibiting at NOW&THEN Gallery

Four new talents will be exhibiting at NOW&THEN until the end of March:

She received a BFA in Photography from Ryerson University and has 10 years of experience in the field. She is an avid traveller, having returned just recently from a trip to East Africa. Her photos have been selected for SNAP!, the AIDS Committee of Toronto annual photography fundraiser and in 2008 the Grand Price Winner of LCBO´s Whisky in Focus photo competition.
